Festive thanks from Iprism!
Ian Lloyd, CEO
We’re fast approaching the end of another year, but before the bells ring out for Christmas Day, I want to thank our partners, clients, and of course, the whole Iprism team for another fantastic year.
With 2025 approaching, and Iprism’s 20th anniversary on the horizon, it’s a fitting time to reflect on some of the highlights from the past twelve months. We began the year on a high as we picked up our Chartered Insurance Underwriting Agents status. This recognition is important to us as we remain committed to maintaining the highest standards of technical underwriting. Over the last year, we’ve taken on three more apprentices, all of whom are studying for their Cert. Thirty-one members of the team are Cert CII qualified or higher, and in the last eighteen months, four achieved Cert, and one achieved their Dip. For us, this focus on underwriting excellence remains paramount as we continue to grow and cement our reputation in the market.
We were proud to be selected as BIBA’s official High Value Home Insurance Scheme Provider, testament to our underwriting skill and reputation for customer service in this demanding sector. The High Net Worth market experienced its fair share of challenges over the past twelve months, with some high-profile exits and questions raised about the suitability of the MGA distribution model in this line. In an Insurance Age article on the subject, our Private Clients Team Manager Victoria Blanche shared her view that as long as brokers do their research on HNW MGAs, looking for those who have proven expertise in the market, with strong, experienced capacity provision, and good historical data, MGAs can still offer sustainability, profitability, and longevity.
A very busy BIBA in May was another highlight, with a record number of visitors to our stand, and I took the opportunity to share my top tips on how to ensure underwriting success with Insurance Post. We’re already planning for BIBA 2025, all I can say is that next year’s stand is going to look and feel very different…
Our headcount increased throughout this year, with 13 new faces joining the team including our Private Clients Team Manager, Victoria, a new Senior Underwriter, Danielle Lloyd, our Liability Team Manager, Luke, and Non-Executive Director Adrian Saunders. Even though our team continues to grow, we’ve not lost the close-knit family feel of our earlier days, and we’ve taken every opportunity to bring people together in the office and on the water - as anyone who joined our Summer Boat party will know!
In all, Iprism is heading into 2025 with strength, and I’m grateful for the ongoing support of our brokers, capacity partners, and hard-working team.
Thank you, and I wish you and your families a happy and healthy festive season.
